Every child at West Moors will learn French. As well as teaching pupils how to form sentences in French, we also look at intercultural aspects of France through comparing food, music and photos.
In KS3 the emphasis is on acquiring language skills to develop independence. This is done through modules including town, theme parks, football, sports, holidays. In year 8 most pupils will have a pen pal from France. These pupils visit the school in May and all year 8 pupils have the chance to practise their French, attend a disco or play in the keenly contested France v England football friendship cup!
There is also an opportunity for some pupils to visit Boulogne in France during year 8 community week.
